How to Make Spooky Halloween Candles
First, start by cutting the cardboard tubes to different lengths. By cutting the rolls and staggering the length, it will give the candles a more realistic look. Next, poke a tiny hole towards the top of the roll all the way through the other side. This hole will be where the toothpick is inserted and this is what will hold the tea light. I used a nail to easily poke through the cardboard. Once the hole is poked, you can insert the tooth pick. Snip off any excess that is hanging out past the roll. You want the toothpick to be even with the end of the roll.
Next, grab your glue gun and drip hot glue around the outside of the top of the roll. This will look like dripping wax once it is painted! After the hot glue is dry, start painting. I used watered down chalk paste, but any black paint should do.
Once the paint is dry, simply place the tea lights in the opening at the top. This is a simple and easy Halloween craft! I love that I had all the supplies to make this in my house!
