Holy Cow, y’all- I’m so excited to share this makeover with you! I found this hand-crafted antique dresser and knew it had potential to look amazing! After little brainstorming and consulting with my husband, I tackled this antique dresser makeover and I am so pleased with how it looks.
Antique Dresser Before
I bought this antique dresser at an auction. This dresser is solid wood and hand-crafted. Upon close inspection, you can see each individual nail and screw. The thing that makes this dresser so unique is that there are imperfections that you don’t see in a manufactured piece of furniture. Each piece of this dresser was hand cut and sanded. One of the back boards of the dresser looks like it split when it was nailed together. This imperfection adds character to this beautiful antique dresser.
Antique Dresser Makeover
I decided to paint this dresser with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. The dresser was painted with Annie Sloan’s Pure White and Napoleonic Blue. I wanted this dresser to have a full-coverage look, so I used three coats of both the white and blue. Next, I waxed the entire dresser with Annie Sloan’s clear wax. I really wanted to make the knobs on the dresser pop, so I spray painted them gold with Krylon spray paint.
I am simply in love with how beautiful this dresser is. By using classic colors and bright accents, this antique dresser has been completely transformed.
