Well hello and welcome to week five of the summer cocktail series. Today, I am going old school with this classic Dark N Stormy cocktail recipe. I had a Dark N Stormy a few years ago and it quickly became my favorite cocktail. This drink is perfect for the summer because it is so refreshing!
There’s something so wonderful about a dark and stormy summer night. I love summer thunder storms and this drink reminds me of the cool rain on a hot summer day. I took this the other evening when we had a huge storm roll in.

How to Make a Dark N Stormy
In a copper mug fill ice to the top. Add two ounces of rum, a squeeze of lime and top with ginger beer. Yup- that’s it! This is a super simple drink to make and it is sooooooo tasty! We have tried all kinds of brands of ginger beer and honestly, Goslings is by far the best. It is also most commonly found too. Likely, your local grocery store will carry it. I have also tried it in the one liter bottles, but found it goes flat before I get a chance to finish it. I prefer the cans because I usually get two cocktails out of one can and that’s about my limit;)
