This wreath is FUN. Like really fun! I had shared this last year in my Kid-Friendly Christmas Decorations post, but it really deserves a full post on it’s own! I’m not going to lie and tell you this is a super easy wreath. This wreath took time to make and a good bit of materials, but the WOW factor is worth it! It is not technically difficult- just time-consuming.

How To Make a Deco Mesh Christmas Wreath
Like I mentioned this wreath is FUN! For most deco mesh wreaths, I generally use a wire wreath form, but for this one a greenery wreath works great for a couple of reasons. First of all, those greenery wreaths are cheap around the holidays, and readily available. Second, they don’t need as much filler (deco mesh) as the wire wreath form.
I actually made this wreath live over of Facebook last year. You can check out that video HERE.
First, start by separating the greenery stems on the wreath. They usually come pretty packed together. Next, cut the deco mesh. I cut these at 8 inches and cut about 21 strips between three different colors. for this wreath I used white, red and red and white stripe.
Next, cut your ribbon. I used two different wired ribbon and two non-wired ribbon. The ribbon strips are also cut to 8 inches long as well.
Put It Together
Now it is time to start putting the wreath together. Roll the deco mesh pieces into a long tube. Take one of each color and hold them together, and pinch them in the center so they make a “V”. Next, use a wired stem of the greenery wreath to wrap around the center of the deco mesh bunch.
Next, you will want to do the same thing with the ribbon. Put one of each kind together, fold the bunch in the center and use a wired stem of the wreath to hold it.
Fill in the wreath as full as you want it. Again, the great thing about using the greenery wreath is that you don’t need a TON of deco mesh. I have also made deco mesh wreaths on a wire wreath form, you can check that out HERE.
Next, add a bow. I used the same ribbons that I had used throughout the wreath to make the bow. Secure the bow to the wreath with some floral wire.
Finally, add some Christmas flare! I grabbed the elf feet, lights and colored glitter stems from the craft store. Find whatever fun flare you want and add it to the wreath. For this particular wreath, I simply inserted the wire stems of the lights and elf feet and then wrapped them around the wreath. No hot glue needed!
How fun is this wreath!? I absolutely love having this on our front door for Christmas!
