Halloween is coming soon! My oldest wants to be a Minion this year. Making a Minion costume is relatively easy, yay!! Instead of getting a $1 plastic pumpkin to contain the candy, I decided to make him a DIY Minion Halloween Candy Basket! This basket literally took me 10 minutes to make (that includes the time it took for the glue gun to heat up).
What you need
Basket
Yellow Paint (I used Annie Sloan Chalk paint, but spray paint will work as well)
Googly eye
Tin jar with a clear lid (I found these by the check-out line at Michael’s for $1.50)
Black Streamer (crape paper)
Black Sharpie
Hot Glue Gun/Hot Glue
How to make a DIY Minion Halloween Candy Basket
Paint the basket yellow
Glue the googley eye
Glue the streamer around the basket
Glue the tin jar lid over the eye, making sure to cover the edges of the crape paper
Use the sharpie to color the handle black
That’s it! Super simple and quick way to surprise your kid with a DIY Minion Halloween Candy Basket! Bonus- everyone will be so impressed that your child has a matching Halloween candy basket and no one has to know it only took 10 minutes to make!
Happy Halloween!
