I will tell you how I have turned a crafting hobby into an amazing side-hustle. Before you keep reading I want you to know this is not some get-rich-quick scheme. I will not promise you will be quitting your current job and crafting for money in the next month! What I will tell you, is I have found an amazing opportunity that has allowed me to craft and make money.

So what is the secret? Chalk Couture! Chalk Couture is a direct sales company that is unique to the DIY niche. First of all, let me tell you- I have never worked for a direct sales company before and I had no idea what MLM meant! (BTW- if you are like me, MLM means multi-level-marketing.) I started with Chalk Couture in the summer of 2018. It was right at the end of the Company’s first year. In less than one year, I had grown my team, started making consistent income and had fallen in love with the products.

Let’s start with the products. Chalk Couture makes reusable silk-screen stencils, called transfers. They also produce removable chalk paste, permanent ink, various surfaces and accessories. Once you try the products you will be hooked. They are by far my favorite crafting supplies to work with. Chalk Couture has truly taken the DIY and crafting world by storm! The products basically sell themselves. I have never had a customer try it and say…”nah, I’d rather work with hard plastic stencils and paint”. NEVER!
Chalk Couture also gives you the freedom to run your business the way YOU want to run your business. If you don’t want to do home parties, you don’t have to do home parties. In fact, I don’t do home parties. I much prefer to host make-and-take parties or online parties. You don’t need to have an extensive inventory. You can actually get started with just the items in your starter kit! There is no need to have a ton of product on hand unless you plan to sell it at vendor events or pop-up parties. Chalk Couture’s revolutionary business model allows customers to order directly from you through a website. You don’t have to sort through inventory, manage payment systems or even worry about shipping!
You can sell your finished work anywhere! That’s right! If you have an Etsy shop or a space at a local shop, you can absolutely sell your finished work. I made a cute first day of school sign, and it sold well on my Etsy Shop and on Facebook!! Chalk Couture gives their Designers the freedom to create whatever they want with the products and then turn around and sell the finished work. If you don’t want to sell the products to make DIY signs, then you can just sell the finished signs that YOU make! You do not need an additional commercial license to sell finished work that you created with Chalk Couture designs and products.

There is also no pressure to grow a team. That’s right. There are no bonuses or targets to hit to get team members to join under you. If you want to join as a Designer to sell signs on Etsy or if you want to run an online business to make a little side-cash, that is completely ok. No one will pressure you to recruit new team members. If you just want to chalk pretty things…that’s ok!!

There is a $19.99 monthly fee for Chalk Couture to host the online shop and your back office. HOWEVER, to offset that cost, you will receive the Club Couture transfer every month. There is a quarterly minimum for Designers, but it is completely reasonable. $100 per quarter, which is about $33 per month. It is extremely easy to hit that amount.
