Hello there! Today I am sharing one of my favorite tiered tray ideas. I love decorating my tiered tray seasonally, but for those in-between seasons, this farmhouse tiered tray is perfection. With neutral colors, simple designs, and farmhouse style, this tiered tray will look beautiful in any home.
I have a bit of an obsession with decorating tiered trays. A good seasonal tiered tray is one of my favorite ways to decorate. Tiered trays are a great way to display decor without taking up too much space. If you like to swap your decor out often (like me) then this might be what you are looking for.
The idea of changing out an entire book shelf of decor or a mantel is something I can handle about twice a year. With a tiered tray, I can change out my decor monthly and keep it fresh. Plus- I can move the tiered tray around in my house. Right now, it is in the kitchen!
This farmhouse tiered tray is perfect for any season. I like it for “everyday” decor. I kept the colors neutral and everything included in the tray is very simple.
What You Need
Let’s jump in. Here’s what I used to make this tiered tray.
I wanted to stick with black and white with accents of greenery on the galvanized tiered tray. The neutral colors and the sentiments on the surfaces give this farmhouse tiered tray a cohesive look. I also distressed the words and patterns a bit to give this a more rustic look.
Do you like words on everything? I do, and to complete this look, I used Chalk Couture products. If you don’t know about Chalk Couture, START HERE. Chalk Couture makes reusable, silk-screen stencils (called transfers). They also make removable chalk paste, permanent ink, surfaces and accessories to make up-scale DIY home decor.

How to Make a Farmhouse Tiered Tray
Now let’s talk about pulling the tiered tray together. Like I mentioned before, I kept the look cohesive by limiting the colors I used to create the small items in the tiered tray. Black and white are a safe bet for achieving the farmhouse look. Check out this video to see how I made the large galvanized tag.
The little houses are perfect for a farmhouse tiered tray. HERE are the exact houses I used. Finding things around your house that you already have is a great way to fill your tray. The creamer I used has been in my china hutch for years and I never use it. I added the words “farm fresh” from THIS transfer using chalk paste. Since chalk paste is removable, I can simply wipe it off when I want to change out my tiered tray.

I absolutely love how this farmhouse tiered tray looks in my kitchen. The clean lines, black and white color pallet and farmhouse elements are great for a non-seasonal tiered tray.
