Happy Spring! Today I am sharing a cherry blossom-inspired spring table setting idea. If you are new around here, welcome! I’m Allison and my family and I live right outside of Washington, DC. This week happens to be the peek bloom for the Japanese cherry blossoms around the tidal basin.
I figure this is the perfect time to share this spring table setting with you since I used my fabulous cherry blossom dishes.
Lets jump right in, shall we?

First, I wanted to create a look that was light, springy and airy. Instead of creating a spring tablescape in my formal dinning room, I kept things a bit more casual and dressed the round farmhouse table in our kitchen.
For this spring table setting, I started with placing a natural linen table runner on my round table. Next, I layered my cherry blossom plates.
Do you fold napkins? I could watch napkin folding videos ALL DAY on Pinterest! Those videos are totally addicting. Here’s a video showing how I did my napkins to make a two-pocket fold. I wanted two pockets because I wanted the napkins to hold the silverware as well as the place card for each setting. These particular napkins are actually flour sac towels and they are HUGE (28×28)!
Once the napkins were placed, I added the silverware and the place cards. Here’s what I used for the place cards.
Finally, I added a sweet little wooden bird that coordinates with the blue birds in the plates. Check out this video to see how I made the birds. Want to make your own birds? Grab the supplies for the birds HERE.
The centerpiece was kept simple. Like I mentioned, I wanted a more casual look since this is our kitchen table and not our formal dining room. I used a simple white vase and a stem of cherry blossoms to incorporate in my spring table setting.
What do you think of this spring table setting?
