I love a good signature cocktail, how about you? This vodka Bee’s Knees cocktail is perfect for a crowd or just a single happy hour drink on a Friday afternoon. The combination of fresh lemon and honey is refreshing and light!
A traditional Bee’s Knees is made with gin, but I am a vodka-loving girl, so I replaced the gin with vodka to suit my taste. If you are trying this recipe, please note you can make it with either gin or vodka!
The secret of this recipe is the honey syrup. I wasn’t sure what honey syrup was until I started researching it. Turns out, it is watered down honey. Seriously- that’s it. You can either add hot water to honey and stir until the honey dissolves or place equal parts water and honey in a small sauce pan and heat on medium low heat until the honey dissolves. Easy peasy!
What You Need
2 oz Vodka
Half a Lemon
1 oz Honey Syrup
Ice
Lemon twist for garnish
How to Make Honey Syrup
Add equal parts honey and water to a small sauce pan. Stir over med-low heat until the honey is dissolved. For this recipe I used a 1/4 cup honey and a 1/4 cup water. Check out THIS VIDEO to see exactly how I made it.
How To Make A Vodka Bee’s Knees Cocktail
Start by filling a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, honey syrup and the juice from a half of a lemon. Shake and strain in a glass. Add a lemon twist! Want to see how I made this? Check out THIS VIDEO.
This cocktail is that easy to make! Next time I want to experiment with infused honey. I bet a lavender honey would be fabulous in this cocktail recipe.
